It was a rare Sunday night game in Toronto as the Leafs took on a team that apparently has their number, the Boston Bruins.

While Toronto had moments of talent and skill, they couldn’t overcome the power and dominance of the Bruins. Losing 5-2, the Leafs scored first but couldn’t stay out of the penalty box and consequently couldn’t hold a lead past the first period.
Giving up 3 goals in the second period the Leafs were never able to come back. The one saving grace from this game, if it can be considered as such, is the fact that the Leafs only gave up 38 shots on net. Considering that they have given up 50+ shots in their last two games, this is a milestone for the team.

Aside from the roster holding the shots on net at a lower amount, the Leafs 4th line seemed to be showing some signs of connecting. Jake Holland got the 3rd star of the game for a goal and assist. With a team that is heavily reliant of their first line of Kessel, van Riemsdyk, and Kadri this could be a sign of things to come.
Here’s hoping for some positive reports about the Toronto Maple Leafs in the future. Be sure to check back Thursday as the Leafs take on Los Angeles Wednesday night.
