Top Six Sushi Spots in The Six

Sushi, you either like it or you don’t. There is no in between. Traditionally it’s raw seafood rolled up with rice and seaweed but some restaurants go above and beyond to make theirs stand out. We rounded up a list of our favorites and hope at least one of these inspire you to try such a delicacy.

Kaka

Kaka plays no games when it comes to ensuring that their sushi stands miles a part from the competition. Their sushi isn’t just lit (as the kids would say). It’s on fire. Literally, as in they serve flaming sushi. They also have delicacies like foie gras and gold dust for their maki rolls. But let’s not glaze over the face that Kaka serves flaming sushi. (655 Bay St.)

Hana Sushi

Hana is known for sushi and they do it right. Don’t worry about a server bringing you sushi as their service is best in class. At Hana the sushi arrives to your table via a conveyor belt and honestly we’re sold. The big kid in us knows this is exciting. We’re certain your Insta feed will blow up if you work the angles here when it comes to photos. (21 Grenville St.)

Yasu

“If I could give them six stars I would.” We knew this was our kind of place when we read that review on Yelp. Yasu Omakase sushi is not a meal but it’s an experience. To get said experience at a decent price and actually have quality food is unheard of in Toronto. (81 Harbord St)

Ho Sushi Express

Top Six Sushi Spots in The SixTheir sushi is all picture perfect and Insta ready. It’s a small takeout spot but it’s full of big flavors. With big pieces of shrimp and affordable prices that’s only interested in expanding your waist band and not your wallet. (28 Lee Centre Drive.)

Jugemu

Jugemu makes dishes that look like edible art. They have lots of variety on their menu as it’s almost a tour for your taste buds. There are no shortage of compliments about the taste and decor of this place. (193 Carlton Street)

Katana on Bay

Katana is classy Japanese fusion cuisine. The tempura shooter looks both delicious and intimidating as it should be shareable but we’re not judging if you don’t share. People also rave about their spicy tuna. (333 Bay Street)

Every restaurant does sushi slightly different but it’s all about the flavors and experience. Sushi isn’t just food to most it’s an eating experience. These are just six of our favorites but did your favorite make our list? If not, where should we check out next?
