Brazilian surfer Carlos Burle had quite the ‘superman’ moment in big-wave hotspot, Nazaré, Portugal. First he saved fellow surfer, Maya Gabeira’s life after she snapped her ankle and went under the water, Burle quicly plucked her out of the water and brough her to the beach.
After making sure shwas making a recovery he jetted back into the water and surfed what may be the tallest wave ever surfed (reported to have reached a height of 30 metres – 98 feet). Though Burle is still waiting for Guinness World Records to confirm his claim, if confirmation goes through he will beat 2011 record set by Garret McNamara who surfed a 23.88 metre wave.
