VELD AFTERMATH- Summer of EDM

This past long weekend August 4th and 5th Toronto hosted yet another major electronic music festival. This has by far been the most highly anticipated event of the summer with its unbelievable DJ line up featuring major artists such as Avicii, Deadmau5, Steve Angello, Michael Woods and Steve Aoki to name a few. Veld featured the best of the best all at one event here in Toronto, the best city on earth!

Tainted was at Veld to capture the madness and we are here to give YOU devoted Tainted followers an overview of what went down for all the kiddies who missed out!

Saturday was a roller coaster, from super hot weather to A LOT of rain the party didn’t stop and it was pretty sick! The crowd was loving the rain, loving the music and loving the vibes. The DJ sets were awesome during the day; Steve Aoki, Steve Angello and Chris Lake were my personal fav’s, Deadmau5 was a bit of a let down and to top it off he ended his set early- not cool. The crowd wasn’t too happy about it to say the least. Shortly after the show disappointed fans were cursing him out on twitter unhappy about their long anticipated wait for him to be cut off early! What’s with that? Anyways whatever the case may be whether it was the weather or what not, it was not a good look for Deadmau5. Hopefully Toronto can forgive and forget for his sake!

Sunday of Veld was awesome, it seemed as though the amount of people doubled and all of the Dj’s played amazing sets! The weather was perfect and the people were there to let go and just go nuts! Tainted’s favorite sets of the day: Nicky Romero, Bass Nectar and of course AVICII! Avicii killed it, his set was awesome and was a highlight of the entire event let alone the day! He came on the stage and the party really started! He played all of the hits and some classics, Avicii gave the audience what we wanted and more!

Another cool feature at Veld was the Bacardi tent which included another main stage with sets that ran until 9 pm. The tent was packed with people, it was a whole different party in there pretty cool I have to say!

Overall this has been an epic summer for EDM, never before have I experienced so many festivals and big names in our city as close together as this year. Torontonians stepped up to the plate through good and bad weather and partied hard! GO Toronto- None the less, VELD 2012 was a success according to us here at Tainted, let’s hope for round 2 next year!
