Toronto Supermarkets to Sell Wine in 2016
Last year beer popped up in Toronto-area grocery stores and this fall, wine is about to pop up in those same grocery stores. Seventy grocery stores are expected to sell wine in the area. Think about it adding your favorite wine to your grocery list, just got a lot easier. 150 grocery stores are expected to sell wine by 2019. And to give local wineries a better shot out of the seventy licenses up for grabs, thirty five have a restriction that retailers only sell Ontario wines. After a few years though those restrictions will be lifted and all stores will be able to sell both foreign and local wines. We’re not even halfway through 2016 and it’s already starting to look brighter than 2015. What’s your favorite local wine? What do you think about buying wine at your local grocery store? Is this a good thing for the city or no?
