Top things to do during Pan Am Games

The countdown to the 17th Pan Am Games, to be held from the 10th of July to the 26th of July 2015, has begun, and here we take a look at some of the top things you should be doing during the Pan Am Games to have an exhilarating experience off the field, while catching the action taking place on the field.

  1. Check out the art on Barton Street

See Barton Street like never before. Artists in a project, named Artmatch, have transformed Barton Street from what it was. The themes are the three C’s – Commercialization, Commoditization, and Consumption. There will also be various other exhibits on display once the event kicks off on the 10th of July

  1. Support and show your pride

Whether you are a local citizen or a tourist support the games and show your pride by wearing merchandised items related to Pan Am. Souvenirs and merchandise items can be found on Lister Block and can also be purchased in the stadiums.

  1. Visit Gore Park

So the games do interest you but you want more action for yourself? Well head out to Gore Park and be entertained food, drinks and free concerts held by local artists. Don’t worry about missing the live action though. There will be giant screens taking care of your viewing pleasure.

  1. Welcome the debutants

Take part in welcoming the new list of games making their debut during the 17th Pan Am Games. Say hello for the first time in Pan Am Games to Golf, Rugby, Women’s Baseball and Canoe Slalom.

  1. A great grand goodbye gesture

Say good bye to Pan Am games in the grandest of manner. The two day closing festival will be held on the 25th and 26th of July. There will be food, drinks and music, and obviously the games but the great grand good bye gesture will be the amazing fireworks display at Pier 4 Park waterfront.
