Tina Fey & Amy Poehler Shine in “Sisters”

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are comedic gold and their chemistry on screen and off screen is crazy! This week I got the chance to see this movie before it hits theaters on December 18th and it’s worth way more than the ticket price. The entire theater was filled with laughter and if for some reason you’re skeptical about this comedy that belongs next to “Step-Brothers,” here are a few reasons to grab friends and immediately go see “Sisters.”

Amy and Tina Have Chemistry

Amy and Tina said they were putting out another comedy and these two are raunchy comedy gold the whole way through. Amy plays the responsible big sister Maura who decides to be the irresponsible sister for one night and Tina stars as Kate the irresponsible flighty younger sister who agrees to be the house mom for the night. Cleaning out their childhood rooms quickly turn into “maybe we should have a party before our parents sell the house.” It goes as well as anyone would think it would. The chemistry between these two are insane.

Maya Rudolph, John Cena, & Drunk Uncle

Saturday Night Live veteran Drunk Uncle or Bobby Moynihan is hilarious! He plays an old high school friend who is always doing the most in attempt to make everyone laugh. Most of the movie people are laughing at him not with him. Maya Rudolph plays Brenda, Kate’s high school nemesis who is upset that she didn’t get a invite to the massive house party. John Cena plays a drug dealer who has very short lines but every time he speaks it’s unexpected.

If Project X and Step-Brothers Had A Baby This Movie Would Be It

This movie is like a mix of Project X (if the parents threw the party) and dysfunctional like Step-Brothers. James Brolin and Dianne West play the parents and these guys definitely go for the quality over quantity of jokes.

“Sisters” shows adults can be fun and irresponsible and youth is more of a state of mind.  We all have friends who are complaining about how they don’t have “time” and basically FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) has them missing the now. Time is definitely a theme in the movie.

Favorite Scene: The Drunk Diary Scene:

There were many laugh out loud moments but my favorite was Tina and Amy sitting in a bubble bath together drinking wine while reminiscing on their childhood reading their diaries. usually vulgar humor isn’t my thing but I’m okay with the constant dropping of the words “vagina” and “balls” and the ridiculous humor like someone getting a music box ballerina stuck up their butt. Tina and Amy pull it off!

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler definitely flaunt their girl power on screen chemistry and take advantage of their ability to make people laugh. You’re going to want to see this movie again and again and own it on DVD! We give this five our of five stars. Make sure to check out “Sisters” when it hits theaters December 18th.
