Where did summer go? It’s already mid July and we’re begging for it to please slow down. This summer has given us hot concerts and hotter movies so far. There are still some hot summer Blockbusters that we can’t wait to check out before the summer’s end and we picked our top six.
Suicide Squad | August 2016
Suicide Squad stars Margot Robbie, Will Smith, Cara Delevingne, Viola Davis, and Jared Leto to name a few. It’s one of the most anticipated releases of the year as it’s the first time we get to see Harley Quinn (Played by Margot Robbie) on the screen. The movie centers around a mix of villains (Deadshot, Harley Quinn, and the Joker to name a few) band together to execute dangerous missions in exchange for clemency for their crimes.
Sausage Party | August 2016
Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Jonah Hill wrote a movie together. Not just any movie but an R rated CG animated movie which is quite rare. The movie follows one sausage who’s the leader of a group of groceries on their quest to discover the truth about their existence.
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children | September 2016
This movie is based on a best-selling novel centering around Jake who discovers alternative realities and times which leads him to Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. He learns about the residents and their abilities and realizes safety isn’t as close as he thought.
South Side With You | August 2016
This anticipated movie is based on the summer of 1989 when President Barack Obama met his wife Michelle. It chronicles the First Lady on their date across Chicago’s South Side. The movie stars Tika Sumpter, Vanessa Bell Calloway, and Parker Sawyers and is sure to evoke some emotion in the theater.
Nerve | July 2016
Emma Roberts, Dave Franco, and Samira Wiley star in this sure hit. It centers around a high school senior who finds herself a player in a super intense online game of truth or dare and every move makes it obvious she’s definitely the pawn in this game.
When the Bough Breaks | September 2016

Morris Chestnut and Regina Hall star as a couple who’s surrogate mother becomes super obsessed with the child’s father. The further the woman gets in the pregnancy, the crazier she tends to get. The couple soon finds themselves in a game of cat and mouse to save their baby.
