Six September Concerts in the Six

Summer may be coming to a close sooner than we like but just because the weather is getting cooler doesn’t mean the music scene isn’t on fire. September brings so many concerts and if we had all the money we’d surely go to them all.

Schoolboy Q | September 1 – Sound Academy (Tickets)

Schoolboy may have dropped his major label debut album in 2014 but he’s been spitting rhymes well before 2008 and has nothing to prove in this industry. With hits like “Collard Greens,” “Man of the Year” and “Hell of a Night,” we’re certain he’s not going anywhere soon.

Electric Island | September 4 – Hanlan’s Point (Tickets)

electricislandlabourday

Electric Island technically is a festival but it’s a musical experience where you’re guaranteed to have the time of your life. Labour Day Weekend festival is the finale of the 2016 Electric Island series and they’re going out with a bang because “Why not?” Headliners include Loco Dice, Nicole Moudaber, Green Velvet and Claude Vonstroke, Fatima Yamaha, Dixon, Bicep, Guy J, and AME. Why would you want to go anywhere else?

Tiesto | September 4th – – Cabana Bar (Tickets)

Grammy Award winning DJ/Producer Tiesto will be spinning at The Cabana Bar on September 4th and it’s going to be hype! He’s known for his fresh mixes and his energy on the stage. He’s always mastering hits and on the top of DJ Magazine’s annual Top 100 DJs list. Cabana Bar is known for it’s beach like theme that makes you never want to go home and we don’t blame you.

Bad Boy Family Reunion| September 6 – Air Canada Centre (Tickets)

The 90s are in right now and Bad Boy Records is cashing in on that and allowing fans old and new to relive hits from their favs. The Bad Boy Family Reunion tour includes performances from intern turned record label mogul Puff Daddy, Lil’Kim, Faith Evans, Mase, 112, Total, Carl Thomas, The Lox and modern day Bad Boy Family French Montana. It’s sure to be bad in all the right ways.

Action Bronson | September 8 – Sound Academy (Tickets)

Bronson was super heavy in the mix tape game for quite a few years before getting a major label debut. In 2015 he dropped his full length album “Mr. Wonderful” which received stellar reception from listeners. The rapper has quite the following and despite some lyrical controversy he pulls crowds. You either like Action Bronson or you don’t, there’s no in between.

Chance the Rapper | September 27 – TD Echo Beach (Tickets)

Chance the Rapper is blowing up the charts and he has every major record label banging at his door right now and the magic is he’s not interested in any of them. He has no label but he drops hit after hit on his mixtapes which is incredible and led to him being one of the first artists to be eligible for a Grammy nomination solely from music streams.

It was hard to narrow it down to six and this doesn’t include every September concert in Toronto. What concert do you have your tickets ready for?
