There’s nothing like a night full of trance music at The Guvernment complex, it’s a definite default spot on a Saturday night if you want to party with friendly people and dance along to some awesome music. Cosmic Gate dropped by for their Wake Your Mind Tour on August 18th along with Ben Gold and beautiful vocalist Emma Hewitt. The last time Cosmic Gate and Ben Gold were here, they both left the city completely buzzing. This German Duo and talented UK DJ never seem to disappoint this city with each set they play.
The night started out with Resident DJ Mark Oliver, setting the tone just right as people slowly started to pour into the main room. Starting off with some groovy tech, it hyped the crowd as they all were anticipating for what’s about to happen later on in the night. Soon enough Cosmic Gate took over the stage as tempos started to pick up and bass started to pump. The crowd cheered and clapped as they appeared in the DJ booth and the party was underway. Part way into their set, Emma Hewitt appeared on stage and sang live for songs like “Calm Down,” “Waiting” and of course “Be Your Sound.” The whole entire room joined in with each song and made the night that much better. It was defiantly different in a good way being at an event and having the singer there in person.
Of course the night was still young, right after Cosmic Gate had finished, Ben Gold continued the party. Back in October, he played such a good set; it took everyone by surprise. Upon his return, our expectations were high and once again he blew the crowd away. He played trance and electro, sending the crowd through a euphoric journey of mind and body. Wake Your Mind tour was overall amazing. At the end of the night, resident DJ’s Manzone and Strong closed out the party with the same energy it started off with. Toronto will patiently wait for the next time these fantastic DJs to come back again and undoubtedly will be ready for another epic night.
