Mondays are blah! No one really likes them but somehow they just happen. It’s the sign that a new week is starting with new possibilities and a little rest from the weekend’s crazy. Just because the weekend is over doesn’t mean you have to be bored at home waiting for Friday to come back around. We picked seven events this week that you don’t want to miss and it’ll definitely hold you over until Friday.
1. Madonna
October 5-6th; Air Canada Centre
Madonna isn’t just a pop singer with a career that spans decades long, Madonna is a legend! She’s not going anywhere any tie soon and if you didn’t believe her, she dropped her 13th album Rebel Heart and she’s on tour pushing. Somehow she still manages to pack venues. Grab tickets here.
2. Maestra Dobel Tequila Cocktail Competition
October 5th; The Drake Hotel
Watch bartenders go head to head to create cocktails with tequila as the star. Guests get the chance to sample and judge their favs. The cover is free and the festivities start at 8pm. Check out the details at the official site.
3. Oktoberfest @ Mildred’s Temple Kitchen
October 7-9th ; Mildred’s Temple Kitchen
This is Mildred Temple Kitchen’s first Oktoberfest celebration. It includes guest chefs, Bavarian Cuisine and local brews. Beer Hall tickets are $20. Get tickets and info here.
4. Schmooze for Smiles
October 7th; Li’ly Resto Lounge
This Wednesday go out and have fun for a cause. Tickets are $40 but your forty bucks goes towards Million Dollar Smiles which is donated all the monies to build a playground for a sick little girl. The ticket includes a drink, a raffle ticket, Nosh and tunes from DJ Trambo. Grab your tickets here.
5. Vintage Crawl Toronto
October 8th ; Various Locations
One person’s trash is another person’s treasure. Stay up and enjoying shopping vintage stuff with the Vintage Crawl Toronto. Over 50 different second-hand shops open their doors from 5-11 pm which includes food, deals, drinks and so much fun. (More info)
6. Stevie Wonder
October 9th; Air Canada Centre
Stevie Wonder is a legend! He’s bringing his hits to Air Canada Centre on Friday and that’s the perfect way to get ready for the weekend. Witness a legend in the flesh with some friends. (Tickets)
7. MS MR
October 10th ; Danforth Music Hall
Come out and see MS MR perform all in the name of charity. $1 from each ticket sold is going to fund a charity that supports youth activism. The show starts at 7pm and the duo brings energy into every performance. They leave it all on the stage. They’ve been compared to Florence and The Machine, Lana Del Rey and Kavinsky.
