I’ll admit it, I’m not the biggest basketball fan but I haven’t missed watching the NBA All Star weekend events since I watched Vince Carter kill the dunk competition in 2000, it’s the one time a year I’m glued to the tv watching basketball and following all the celebrity events going on. Of course this year, having it in Toronto for the first time ever was thrilling! I could actually GO to the events! Take it in for myself! Not just watching on TV and following on social media, I could go, go and see it, go and feel it, be there live and in person!!!!

Now the only problem was that I didn’t have tickets or the $395760.99 it cost for them….then I came across Love This City TV’s Facebook page while looking up different events, they had a contest running to win tickets to Kevin Harts Toronto Take Over event on the Friday night. I jumped at it as I’m a HUGE Kevin Hart fan, I entered the contest and I WON….yup you read that right….I WON people, I don’t ever win anything, like it’s never happened…ever…but this time, I was the winner!!!! That’s right….I WOULD BE GOING TO SEE KEVIN HART!!!

So, Friday night I got all dressed up, gathered my friends and headed down to Roy Thompson Hall to pick up my passes and start the night. I got there pretty early and got in pretty quick which I was grateful for as it was the coldest weekend this winter had to offer (-42 with the wind chill…EW) Once inside we discovered Roy Thompson Hall had been transformed into a club type venue, they set it up really well, you could walk around the perimeter with a view to the street, you know, where I could dance around like a winner for all the non winners to watch from the cold outside world. They had a good sized dance floor set up, a few different bars around, a DJ booth and the stairs up to the Ultra VIP section…cuz you had to be a regular VIP just to get in, or just pay a lot for a ticket, but anyway, being a winner, I clearly was now VIP Status. At the entrance was a really cool photo booth set up where you could take a few pics with friends and email them directly to yourself, the staff at the photo booth were awesome and let me know if you posted any picture on any social media with the hash tag #khallstar2016 they could print it for you for free which I thought was a really fun option to have.

I got to meet the CEO and VP of Love This City TV and they even interviewed me, which was an awesome experience. After a few adult cocktails and some dancing, the man of the night showed up!!!! Kevin Hart was in fact in the building; he first came to the top of the stairs of that ultra VIP section to say hi and then came downstairs to party at the DJ booth a bit, he addressed the crowd in the expected hilarious Kevin Hart manner and had us all hyped up for the night! I got to be right up front right beside the photographer and CEO and VP of Love This City TV, it was a really surreal experience as I haven’t spent much time being around celebrities or at events like this. All in all it was an epic night with a great crowd at a great event, I had the time of my life and enjoyed every minute, Love This City TV really made me feel special and gave me the experience of a lifetime.
