Soheil & Kory are DJ’s from Toronto with a clear vision of where they look to be in the music scene within the city. The duo came together around 4 years ago and had their first gig together at the Jewel. Now, they have been dmmerging in the electronic music scene in Toronto and playing at more and more gigs and establishing a distinct DJ style. They like to be versatile and they say if they were to generalize their “sound” it would be a crossover between funky-bouncy-groovy- and deep house.
Whenever they go into playing at an event, they say that it’s key to always feel out the venue and the kind of party. Soheil&Kory say feeling out the atmposphere and vibe at a venue really helps with figuring out what kind of style and tunes they will play in a set. On a regular basis they are releasing sets on their soundcloud page. They have started to form a core team alongside other DJ’s from the city so they can put together more events. The team did a couple beach parties this summer in the city. They plan to continue to work with the team “AVID” which includes other DJ’s from Toronto and coordinate events on the same day. In doing so they want to pull together a solid fanbase and the right kind of crowd. The duo is looking to establish something different in Toronto, because they feel as if there’s not a set music community for underground Scene right now. They’re loving every second of being apart of the music community and its growth in Toronto. They want to bring different sounds and different vibes to the nightlife and party scene in the city, and they’re definitely doing a good job in doing so.
