Deadmau5 just isn’t having the ice bucket challenge. In fact, he’s completely snubbing it.
“Who knew dumping buckets of ice cured Lou Gehrig’s disease. And all this time, I thought stupid things like ‘research’ helped,” tweeted the 33-year-old electronic music producer. Although the viral challenge is raising millions of dollars and awareness for ALS, Deadmau5 thinks there’s a more effective way to show support.
“I’ll be donating 10k to Lou Gehrig’s disease research while the rest of the circus does f*** all,” tweeted the Toronto-based star.

Deadmau5 isn’t the only celebrity disinterested in the ice bucket challenge. When actor Charlie Sheen was challenged by Vancouver Canucks goalie Ryan Miller, he poured $10,000 in cash over his head instead.
“Let’s face it, ice is going to melt but this money is actually going to help people,” said Sheen.
