Burning Man Festival in Las Vegas

If you love radical self-expression and huge, outlandish sculptures but hate getting dirty in hard-to-reach places, you’re in for a treat.

Burning Man, an annual art, music and everything-else festival held in the middle of the Nevada desert is well underway, with more than 60,000 ‘burners’ lighting massive fire displays, donning eye-catching costumes and performing passionate dances at sunrise.

Bringing elaborate sculptures and other artwork from Northern Nevada’s Burning Man festival for display in Las Vegas, an attempt to infuse this Hsieh’s community-building project with the artistic sensibility of Burning Man, will all be set at Las Vegas this year!

‘An interactive sculpture, sprouting from the courtyard of the chamber, will invite participants to clamber upward through the center of this mesmerizing space, much as bees might swarm about the pistil of a flower.’

Everyone visiting the ‘hive’ is encouraged to ‘express their own peculiar sense of inner being,’ which can include, but is not limited to pretending to be a bee and engaging in bee culture.

People gather here from all corners of the earth. In this burning man festival, the people and the whole city thrive for a week with no money exchange. And as what many people (who have attended this event before) said, no one can ever describe what a burning man festival experience is because it is something different for everyone. Trying to explain what Burning Man is to someone who has never been to the event is a bit like trying to explain what a particular color looks like to someone who is blind.

This is the sort of thing that draws more than 55,000 people to the Burning Man festival each year, from the last Monday in August to the first Monday in September. It’s not just escapism, but the hope that not just one song, but life itself will appear a little different when you return to the grind. It takes place in Black Rock Desert, and has been dubbed by some as a “playground for the extravagant, the absurd and the lunatic fringe in society”, though it has also been dubbed by others, simply, as “home”.

Find yourself in a world beyond imagination. There’s not anywhere in the planet that is anything this big. It is extremely the world everyone is seeking for. For a lot of people, this festival is not just an event, but this is the one week when they can be who they want to be.
