While sorting through videos and pictures from all the amazing events Toronto has hosted while closing the summer season, one sticks out particularly as an event that was fresh, unique and just what the cities house lovers needed. Not only was the weather perfect, but the beats were on point, and everyone was there to celebrate the music, the sun, the amazing season Toronto is just wrapping up after a summer of successful events with some of the worlds best DJ’s.

initely to add to that list of parties and everyone knows if Embrace, Coda, Platform and the minds over at Reemerge Productions are behind the event it will be sure not to disappoint. The Dirtybird BBQ that was held at the Sherbourne Common grounds on Septmeber 7th speaks for itself…a day filled with proper Dirtybird beats from the labels top DJ’s and producers including J.Phlip, Ardalan, Justin Martin, Christian Martin, and without a doubt the man behind Dirtybird Records, Claude VonStroke closed the night with an unforgettable set that kept everyone on their feet beginning to end. Bass, funk, and the perfect amount of bounce.
This was the first Dirtybird BBQ Toronto has hosted and it was the perfect city to stop in as part of their 5 city tour. Legendary cities of house music like Brooklyn, LA, Detroit and the birth place of the BBQ San Francisco were all lucky enough to experience the event that started out at as small BBQ Justin & Chris Martin held few years back that obviously grew very quickly.
The DJ’s themselves were working the BBQ which made it extra special and that damn long line up for a hamburger was well worth the wait if Justin Martin was handing it over right before he hit the decks. Might we add…the food was delicious and free!
The sun was shining, the sound system was loud and the people were dancing to some of the best house music around and Toronto defiantly closed off the summer season with a great event we will all be looking for
