The extensive creative background of André Hommen is evident in the sound from his least EP release “Introspectral” on Poker Flat Recordings. With ‘Introspectral’ being his third solo EP release, Andre has continued his reputation of a beyond qualified and sought after solo artist. Having been mentored by legends like Dennis Ferrer and having such a strong influence from the German electronic industry, André’s approach to his music is mature yet humble. He prefers quality over quantity which has worked in his favour continuing with this beautiful and polish EP. We couldn’t be happier André has decided to explore the realms of his own sound.
Giving us 3 tracks all with such a diverse yet carried through sound, we were first introduced to the title track ‘Introspectral’ which automatically resinates as a melodic dance floor hypnotizer, a floating pulsating baseline integrates perfectly with his use of heavy drones taking us for a melodic journey beginning to end. Following with a heavier dub version of ‘Introspectral’ he carries us through a darker yet just as vibrant sound as the original. Closing the EP with ‘Centrifuge’ André changes the pace with a lighter more upbeat introduction and following through with his enjoyment for uniquely balancing the sound with heavy lingering bass and growing synths throughout the track. He explores an array of pace through this track finishing off the EP perfectly. Reflective of his German background we were happy to see the collaboration between Steve Bug’s Poker Flat Recordings and the sound that André brought with this EP. Both proving why the reputation of German production is so respected.
André explores the dark side of house music with a sound that keeps us on our feet and wanting more. We are looking forward for what is yet to come!
