A$AP Ferg and YG both took the Sound Academy by storm in the heated Toronto leg of their Bestcoast Connection tour. The two rap giants from opposite coasts delivered a powerful show, despite the icy cold conditions, each with an impressive array of singles in their growing musical catalogue.
YG opened, primarily playing hits off his 2014 debut album, My Krazy Life. The up tempo rhythm of the unmistakable DJ Mustard production was the perfect party starter, and the crowd quickly filled in as Drake featured Who Do You Love began. Unfortunately, Drake did not make an appearance, but with popular hit singles like My N*gga, YG didn’t need any features to hold down an audience from “the 6”.

A$AP Ferg came out soon after, turning the crowd wild with hits like Work, Let It Go, and Shabba. Although energetic and engaged, Ferg neglected to play many of his newer songs of Ferg Forever, his recent mixtape. The energy was high the whole night, but slowly tapered off near the end of Ferg’s set.
The two rap stars appeared together for their feature This Side, marking a distinct and intense climax for the night. Overall the Sound Academy proved a worthy grounds for A$AP Ferg and YG to play some of their most popular party songs, catch them on the rest of their Bestcoast Connection tour…
