7th edition of Rendez-vous gourmet Québec
More than 50 food producers from Québec are featuring their products today at the Arcadian Court and Loft for the 7th edition of Rendez-vous gourmet Québec. The exquisite event, which is exclusively for chefs from upscale restaurants, distributors, brokers, independent food retailers and food retail chains, continue to bring together hundreds of participants and is a unique opportunity for Québec artisans and GTA key buyers to meet and share their passion for culinary art.
The participants will have the chance to meet some of the best producers in terroir cuisine from Québec, sample the finest products and experience the latest trends. Furthermore, the guest chef from the Institut de tourisme et d’hôtellerie du Québec (ITHQ), Jonathan Lapierre-Réhayem, will prepare recipes made out of products offered by some participants, that will enhance the concept of Time and Place in Nordic cuisine. The Honorable Liza Frulla, Executive Director of ITHQ, a new partner this year and a world-class institution specializing in tourism, hotel and restaurants services, will also be present.
From 11:30am to 12:30pm, media, along with partners, will be invited to a private tasting prepared by the guest chef. Mr Lapierre-Réhayem will also take the opportunity to meet the different exhibitors and several chefs from Toronto.
This year, ITHQ and MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE joined Restaurants Canada (RC) and VIA Rail Canada as partners of edition 2017. Thanks to their support and generosity, a special draw will be made at the event closing for a chance, amongst the participants, to win a trip to Montréal during the festival MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE, from February 22nd to March 4th including: two business class round trip tickets to Montreal on VIA Rail; one night accommodation and a dinner for two at ITHQ; two tickets for a concert during the festival and two chef aprons designed by Katy Lemay from Québec.
This special culinary event is presented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food in Québec and the Bureau du Québec à Toronto and their Agrifood attaché David Dupuy in collaboration with Restaurants Canada.
