The seasons are changing and it’s almost time to get out of hibernation and enjoy good food from one of Toronto’s newest restaurants. The Toronto food scene is nothing less than flavorful and there’s something out there for everyone when it comes to eateries. There’s no surprise that there are so many new restaurants opening up every day. We picked out six of our favorites that we can’t wait to try and to give you a little motivation to leave the house.
Khau Gully

One glance at Kahu Gully’s Facebook page and it’s obvious that the opening was very much so anticipated. The restaurant opened March of 2018 and prides itself in authentic and health conscious Indian Food without giving up on flavor. Also they have many vegetarian options which is always a plus.
Planta

Planta opened in Toronto last year and it’s made quite the buzz and we see why. All of the food at Planta is dairy free and plant based. They’re so confident in their food that their mission is in the name. With interesting dishes like carrot dogs, eggplant lasagna, and barley risotto. Also, if you’re all in at some point you do have to try their fully loaded Planta Burger.
Figures

You like superheroes and super flavors? Figures mixes both with a fantastic atmosphere surrounding yourself in superhero memorabilia. The every changing menu has something for heroes and villains and their cocktail list immediately makes one want to save the world. Whatever you do just don’t write this place off as a burger joint as you’ll miss out as they’re bringing much more to the table.
King Taps

King Taps is comfort food heaven when it comes to restaurants. They pride themselves in honest, delicious food, beer, and an atmosphere that gets people talking. Their menu includes every pizza you could probably imagine, burgers, steaks, and even a shaved pork sandwich drowning in barbecue Sauce. Everything is better with barbecue sauce!
James Cheese Back Ribs

James Cheese Back Ribs is notorious for their saucy Korean Cheese ribs. It’s become the place to go when you need gooey mozzarella sticks and or Korean pork ribs. We’re sold on both! If you’re feeling a bit daring go for the Korean McRib because why not right?
Aloette

This casual yet slightly elegant restaurant may be a the sibling to Alo in taste but it’s clearly a different concept. It’s a mix between a casual dinning spot with elegant décor and just to remind you that the place is casual they inform you that they don’t accept reservations. You can play it safe and order a burger dubbed the Aloette Burger or you could go for something a little daring like a scallop tostada. Treat yo self!
