Food trucks are all the rave and Toronto has so many that there’s even a festival for them. If you go to any of the other festivals you’re most definitely going to run into one there too. As hard as it was, we rounded up our top six food trucks in the six.
Me.N.U Food Truck
It took two years to get this truck on the road. It first started out as pop up restaurant. Followers of the truck go on and on about their signature rice balls. Keep up with all things Me.N.U on Twitter at @meNuFoodTruck
Bonfire Catering
The only thing better than pizza is wood fire oven pizza. It’s one of the busiest and yummiest street vendors but it’s easier to spot Waldo than it is to spot Bonfire in the Toronto area. They mostly spend a lot of time north of the six. If you do catch them in one of their rare Toronto appearances do go for their Mexican pizza. Keep up with Bonfire at @Bonfirecatering on Twitter.
Gorilla Cheese
Gourmet grilled cheese is like the adult version of everyone’s favorite childhood comfort food. Gorilla Cheese is very popular and you can get your paws on one of these gooey delicious sandwiches by checking out Toronto’s many food festivals. Follow them on Twitter at @gorilla_cheese and while you’re at it bite into one of their Lumberjack sandwiches.
Itty Bitty Pie
Mother and daughter Pam and Tara Nicholson really love making pies and when they discovered people really love eating them a business flourished. Itty Bitty Pie is so popular that their truck can be found providence wide. People rave about their Buffalo chicken pie. @ittybittypie
Frankie Fettucine
Frankie Fettucine is a pasta truck. That’s up there with pizza and ice cream on the comfort food pyramid of things. People will stand in the rain for Frankie Fettucine and it’s totally worth it. Try their gnocchi poutine and we’re sure you’ll be addicted. Catch this truck’s comings and goings at @Frankiefett13 on Twitter.
Choco Churros
Choco Churros pretty much had us at Churros. Who doesn’t love fried dough smothered in cinnamon and sugar? In fact their sugar and cinnamon churro is one of their most popular. You can catch this cart on Twitter at @Chocochurros and hanging around the Sony Centre.
These are just our top six we could go on for days about Toronto’s food truck scene. So what you can’t exactly dine in at a food truck, it’s totally worth the wait. What’s your favorite food truck?
