6 Concerts to Check Out In April

The warm weather is welcoming lots of artists to Toronto, which means it’s definitely time to come out of hibernation. Here are six awesome concerts you might want to check out this month while you’re thawing out from the winter freeze.

 

Earl Sweatshirt

Earl Sweatshirt will be at The Opera House and he’s bringing Vince Staples and Remy Banks on April 16th. Sweatshirt is best described as the mysterious guy in Odd Future. His music is a mix of back and forth about his stardom. Sweatshirt is embarking on this tour after having to cancel his previous ones due to pneumonia and exhaustion.

Jazmine Sullivan

Jazmine Sullivan is a woman with a big voice full of heart and soul. Her hiatus in between albums has everyone intrigued with her new album Reality Show. Toronto wasn’t originally on the list of cities for tour but after an extension, she’s hitting The Phoenix Concert Theater on April 22nd.

OneRepublic

OneRepublic is bringing their Native Tour to Toronto at the Air Canada Center on April 24. The band is promoting their third album, Native. Joining them is The Script, Lights, Christina Perri and American Authors. This tour is receiving praises from all over. The Denver Post was quoted saying the band showed finesse and deserved the two-night sellout.

Sixx A.M is coming to Phoenix Concert April 23 along with Apocalyptica.  They’ve embarked on their first headline tour and it’s selling out like crazy. The Modern Vintage Tour is celebrating the release of their album Modern Vintage which debuted at #1 on iTunes on the Rock Album Chart. The Modern Vintage Tour has been long awaited and highly anticipated.

2Cellos

People are ranting and raving about 2Cellos. Their unique performances of popular hits have audiences in awe. The duo first came on the scene after the struggle to find work led them to Youtube and gained over three million views in a week, which eventually led to them getting signed to Sony Masterworks. The duo is performing at Massey Hall on April 28th and you can be wowed yourself.

The New York-based duo is bringing their show to The Drake Hotel on April 27th promoting their album Secondhand Rapture and their newest single “Painted”. The duo is compared to the likes of Florence and Machine and Lana Del Rey and the great performance reviews just keep coming in.

This by far isn’t a complete list of everyone hot that’s coming to Toronto, but it’s definitely a start to get you ready for festival season. Who are you most excited to see in April?
