Recovering From Digital Dreams

Welcome to the last session of Love This City’s EDM 101 series. We want to thank everyone that came out to visit the Newegg.ca-LTC booth this past weekend at Digital Dreams as it was great seeing you all! To anyone who missed the madness, stay tuned to LTC for the festival recap video and DJ interviews that we have coming up!

Our friends at Newegg will help you take care of all your electronic needs from headphones to MP3 players to cellphones and so much more!  More importantly, let’s not forget about digital cameras and camcorders to capture all the crazy people, DJs and good times!

In fact, from now till Sunday July 6th, Newegg is offering 10% off any purchase (excluding open box, refurbished, and clearance items) when you enter the Promo Code: DD10NE

So after the conclusion of Digital Dreams, this didn’t mean the end for many of you, as this may have led to various after parties then rolled over into Electric Island TO and/or the epic 13.5 hr+ Danny Tenaglia marathon set @Ryze. Let’s not forget the Canada Day Holiday which may have led to more alcohol consumption especially at Edgefest or Ribfest.

That being said, it’s now Wednesday and the hump day for this week but you still feel less than stellar and in optimum functional working condition so what do you do? There are LTC’s tips to getting you on track to your road to recovery:

  1. Drink lot of WATER! – the key is hydration as alcohol is a diuretic. We are made up of 90% water so let’s keep it this way.
  2. Restore electrolytes – you were dancing up a storm this past weekend and sweating like a leaking faucet. Time to restore the electrolyte balance via fresh fruit juices or the magic of bananas that will help restore your magnesium/potassium levels to prevent nausea and muscle cramping. Gatorade and Powerade are great for this as well.
  3. Vitamins and minerals – all those “things” you ingested this past weekend flushed out the vitamins from your body especially the alcohol. So we recommend taking some multivitamins and eating lots of fruits and veggies (preferably in a fresh juice form) to replenish the body. The B vitamins especially B6 and B12, will help with your energy levels.
  4. Further detox your body of toxins – by exercising and further sweating them out (increased blood circulation in our body especially to the brain won’t hurt you either) and drinking detox teas.
  5. Restore/aid digestion – by taking probiotic supplements and/or eating some yogurt. This will help with the metabolism and breakdown of the alcohol and other chemicals in your system from the weekend.
  6. All natural herbal supplements – i.e. L-Tryptophan/5-Htp to boost serotonin levels (neurotransmitter that helps regulate mood) and L-Tyrosine to boost dopamine (neurotransmitter that helps control brain’s reward and pleasure centers), and milk thistle that helps to stimulate and detoxify the liver.
  7. Get some sleep – you can take melatonin supplements to help here. Melatonin is a natural hormone that your body produces to control the sleep-wake internal clock cycle. Proper sleep will help you feel better in no time.
  8. Extra Oxygen – by getting more oxygen into your blood, muscle tissue and cells, your body will feel less achy (caused by lactic acid build up). Oxygen Plus created quite the stir, buzz, and hype at the Newegg.ca booth this past weekend and so to make you feel better, more focused, and energized go to www.oxygenplus.ca and use Promo Code: DREAMS to save 25% off the “O+ Skinni Canadian Sport – All Natural Energy Booster”. Each canister contains over 50 breaths of 95% enriched oxygen.

*LTC, by no means, is stating that we are medical experts so please make sure you consult with your physician before taking any of the aforementioned supplement suggestions.

We hope that you feel better and that you are on your way to a full recovery from Canada’s largest EDM festival and look forward to seeing all of you sometime before the summer is out!
