Party’s Over, Time to Eat!
You’ve just worked the dance floor at your favourite nightclub, you’re sweating and you stink, but for some reason you’re not ready to go home. Why? You’re starved! Thankfully, all over downtown T.O. are a bunch of late nightspots to grab some delicious grub. And if for some reason you can’t find a joint to eat at after the partying is over, there are many delivery places that are open really late as well! Find out a few of my favourite places to eat after the partying has finished!
This “poutine-exclusive” restaurant is actually a franchise that has many locations across Toronto, Ottawa, Waterloo, Guelph and many other cities and University towns. When you walk into any location, you can tell it is designed to be a take-out only fast food joint. There is someone there to take your order, one counter to sit at and another counter with condiments—that’s it. So, what should you order? That’s up to you! There are so many different options, such as Country Style Poutine, Veggie Nacho Poutine, Steak Fajita Poutine and many more! My personal favourite is the Country Style Poutine, which includes grilled chicken, double-smoked bacon, sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions and baby green peas. It might sound a little nasty, but I promise you, it’s absolutely delicious. Check out Smoke’s Poutinerie if you’re interested in grabbing some poutine or plain fries.
Thompson Diner is one of Toronto’s famous restaurants that’s known for being open 24/7. Yup, that’s right, you can hit up Thompson Diner at all hours! I like to eat here after a lonnnnng night of partying. What do they have at this place? So many things! I love the Double Mac and Cheese, Buttermilk Fried Chicken and of course, the Spinach and Artichoke Dip, all of which are extremely filling and flavourful. Unlike Smoke’s Poutinerie, Thompson Diner is a dine-in kind of restaurant. So, if you feel like sitting and having a meal rather than just taking something out, you should definitely look into checking out Thompson Diner, you won’t be disappointed.
I know what you’re probably thinking, “Lame choice,” right? But come on! How can I not mention the best pizza place in Toronto? Pizza Pizza is literally unreal; you just have to order the right thing! For example, I only like a plain, piping-hot slice (or 10 slices) of cheese pizza dipped in Creamy Garlic Dipping Sauce. If you’re not a fan of the pizza at Pizza Pizza, you can’t deny that the dipping sauce is the best condiment that one can ask for… If you’re not into pizza, Pizza Pizza also offers calzones, fries, wings and more. Ugh, I think I need to go get me some pizza now.
For those of you that love to eat after a drink-filled night, you’ll definitely want to hit up some of these places for some nutrition to get you ready for that hangover you know you’ll be getting tomorrow morning.
