Come to a celebration of the vibrant sounds of electronic dance music with the best DJs known in the club scene. On May 19, 2013 (Sunday), the Guvernement is hosting Freedom 2013. An electronic dance mecca of sorts, Freedom 2013 is presented by INK productions in collaboration with EDMFix.
These super star DJ’s will be there
Gareth Emery
Born in Southampton, Hampshire, Gareth Emery is one of the most popular DJs of his time. He specializes in trance, house and progressive music. Emery is the highest ranked British DJ. He is also a music producer and runs a record label called Garuda. He also owns a night club bearing the same name. He produces a unique blend of sound that hasestablished him in the hall of fame of most night clubs around the world.
Arty
Arty is a 23 year old, Russian DJ, producer and composer who debuted in the club scene at the age of 19. He has collaborated with the likes of Paul van Dyk and Armin van Buuren. His instruments of choice are the drum machine, synthesizer and equalizer. This young DJ is signed under Anjunabeats and Armada Music. He specializes in trance music and has an excellent command of the crowd.
Nervo
Nervo is a duo composed of sisters Miriam and Olivia who are Australian musicians and songwriters. The twins were originially singers but have since diversified into DJ-ing. They have a radio show called “Nervo-nation”. They co-wrote a Grammy award winning song, “When Love Takes Over” which was performed by Kelly Rowland and David Guetta. Together with Gareth Emery and Arty, they perform at the Guvernment for Freedom 2013.
Ferry Corsten
Ferry Corsten is a Dutch DJ also known as System F. He has a prolific DJ-ing resume that started in the late 1990s. Corsten is a DJ, producer and remixer specializing in trance music. This talented artist has the highest number of electronic dance music singles to have made it to the UK charts. His single “Rock your Body, Rock” was voted top 10 in the UK charts and was voted as the biggest hit by Dutch Publication, BG Magazine. He has collaborated with DJ Tiesto and Armin van Buuren, two of the highest ranked DJs in the world. Corsten is the main act for the Koolhaus venue of the Freedom 2013 party.
Tritonal
Tritonal is an American duo made up of Chad Cisneros and Dave Reed. Together, the two host a show called “Air Up There” in the US. They have frequent collaborations with singer Cristina Soto. Tritonal is signed up with Air Up There Recordings and aim to improve the landscape of modern electronic dance music.
BassJackers
Marlon Flohr and Ralph van Hilst are the duo that make up BassJAckers. Flohr is a DJ and Hilst is a music producer. Their first big break was a single called “Beat Cut” which gained popularity over the airwaves. The duo rose to a steady fame and are seen collaborating with Rihanna, Moby and fellow DJs Tiesto, Afrojack, Sander van der Doorn and Calvin Harris. They have also played in Privilege Ibiza, a stomping ground for promising DJs like them.
Mark Oliver
Mark Oliver is a Toronto DJ who has made a name for himself in the Canadian electronic dance music scene. Oliver has dappled in various genres in the music business from jazz to electronic dance music and his unique sound is a product of this multi-genre exposure. Oliver believes that Toronto is now central to the electronic dance music movement and is proud to be among the gifted pioneers paving the way for the further improvement of EDM in Canada.
