I don’t know about you, but when I hear the words “food” and “festival” in the same sentence I get pretty excited. Growing up and living near Toronto, I’ve been fortunate enough to experience so many different kinds of foods and drinks from different cultures. Most people know Toronto as a culturally diverse city, therefore there is so much variety when it comes to trying new cuisines! So many amazing food and drink events/festivals are taking place in and around the city in the next few months; I’m going to tell you about some of the coolest to check out.
Toronto Food Truck Festival
This festival is back for a third consecutive year and will take place at Woodbine Park in Toronto. From July 29th-July 31st you can sample some of the best dishes that food trucks have to offer. JerkFest
Jerk Fest 2016 is taking place at Centennial Park from August 5th-7th. Back for the 15th year in a row, the festival offers the best in Carribean food, entertainment, and fun. There will be a free shuttle bus available every 15-20 minutes to bring you to the festival and back. The bus leaves from Woodbine Racetracking and parking is free there. Taste of the Danforth
This year is Krino’s 23rd annual Taste of the Danforth. This street festival is one of Canada’s largest and hosts a little over 1 million attendees each year. Taste of the Danforth offers the best in Greek food, entertainment, and culture. It also takes place from August 5th-7th. Toronto Vegan Food and Drink Festival
This Food and Drink Festival is an all around vegan experience taking place on August 13th at Fort York, Garrison Common. A handful of vegan food and drink vendors will be at the festival with plenty of things to try and sample from. Pan American Food Festival
August 13th-14th Yonge-Dundas Square in Toronto hosts the Panamerican Food Festival. This Food festival definitely celebrates cultural diversity! The Panamerican Food Festival (PAFF) will showcase the best in food, art, and music that represents 41 different countries. This year’s featured country is Bolivia. Roundhouse Craft Beer Fest
Calling all lover’s of craft beer…August 13th and 14th the Roundhouse Craft Beer Fest provides plenty of fine craft brews and food to sample from in a park setting. Toronto Cider Festival
Saturday August 27th at Yonge and Dundas Square is the Toronto Cider Festival. The festival aims to bring the coattage life to the city for the day. You can kick back in Muskoka chairs and enjoy different kinds of cider from across Canada and the world. This is a 19+ event and you must buy tickets while quantities last. Food Truck Festival Ontario
This Food Truck Festival hosts a one day event showcasing the best food trucks from across the province. The event is at downsview park on Sunday September 18th. The event starts at 1pm and goes until 7pm. Each truck will offer sample size creations for less than 6 dollars each.
