Ever After Music Festival – The Madness Around The Weekend
Natalie Pereira | June 8th, 2016
One of the biggest EDM festivals went down in Kitchener this weekend, and LTC was there to give you the full recap. Between incredible DJ’s, a full-out waterpark and a wicked games area, you definitely missed out if you decided to stay in this weekend.
Doors for Day 1 opened up at 5pm, (a little later than the rest of the weekend), but perfect for allowing ravers to settle into their hotels, and get ready for an unforgettable weekend. As soon as festival-goers walked into the venue, they were presented with a sweet view of the main stage and a steep hill that had to be tackled to get down there. After making your way down the hill (or tumbling down in my case), the festival grounds were there to explore. Food trucks lined the pathway towards the carnival area, and if you explored a little more in that direction, you could see the entrance to my five-year olds’ fantasy dream – the games area with inflatable games and a Wipeout-style obstacle course. Everywhere you looked, there was something to see! If the castle-themed main-stage that caught your eye first, it was definitely the sight of the waterpark over the hill. The waterpark was open till 8pm all weekend, and was a great way to cool off after raging out to some of todays biggest names in EDM.
For those who are 19+, VIP wristbands were a cool upgrade to the regular ones, allowing for your own separate section filled with booths and booze. VIP privileges included separate washrooms (still porta-pottys, but better than sharing with thousands of other people), a better view of the stage and more accessible bar.

Skrillex played a major wub-filled set on Friday during his sunset slot, leaving a crowd with a taste of what Getter, and Flux Pavillion would deliver later on. The crowd was filled with thrashing heads and rail-riders all evening, making it the perfect evening.
Saturday started off with lots of sun, and crazy energy from everyone hyped over Friday’s madness. Marshmello’s debut to Ontario has been long awaited by fans, hyping everyone up as he got on stage. Just like Friday, day two went on to satisfy every bass-heads desires as Jauz and RL Grime took over the stage. The day ended off as magical as it started, as Adventure Club closed the night out with some of their classics, and one of my favourite tracks, Wonder.
Even though the weekend was looking perfect, somehow we managed to anger Mother Nature, causing her to bring a giant downpour of rain around 2pm. Lucky for us, it only lasted for about twenty minutes, and the sun gladly came back out. While most of the festival-goers started to show up towards the late afternoon, it provided tons of space for the early-goers to shuffle around the grounds.
After two days of raging, you would think that everyone would be exhausted…but incredibly enough, day three was the one with the most energy. Rezz came on stage at 4pm with LED space goggles, and jammed out to her tracks as the crowd bobbed in sync to her set.
During the rest of the evening, Dillon Francis murdered his moombahton-style set, followed by a non-stop, moving moshpit during Flosstradamus. Zedd closed out day three (if you haven’t seen him before, I definitely recommend), with incredible laser shows and fireworks to go along with his set – making it the perfect end to a perfect weekend (cheesy, I know).

Ever After completed their second year successfully, and will inevitably grow to be as big as Digital Dreams, or VELD Music Festival in the next few years.
