Electric Elements Festival Recap on Love This City TV
Electric Elements Festival 2016 was unreal. The festival had an absoultely epic lineup of DJ’s and an amazing turn out of people attended the event and came to rave. It was definitely Canada’s biggest May 2/4 party. The venue took place at Wasaga beach and the stage only a five minute walk from the beach itself. The sun was shining and people were smiling, the party didn’t stop from the time the gates opened until the ending of the night.
Each DJ at Elements had their own unique sound and style, and kept the good energy flowing. Some of the opening DJ’s who started off the event included: Cartel, T.W.O.W, TKDJS, Andy Ares, Saad Ayub, and Mercer. As more and more people started arriving to the festival throughout the day the crowd got more hyped up. Lovethiscitytv had the chance to interview a few of the opening DJ’S such as TKDJS and Saad Ayub, those interviews and videos will be posted on our page. It was awesome to sit down with the DJ’s and talk to them about how epic it was to play a set at Electric Elements. EDM fans from all over the GTA and elsewhere in Canada made the journey down to wasaga beach. It was worth the travel time for a lot of the crowd to see some of their favourite DJ’s and rock out to their sets. The weather turned out to be pretty chilly with the wind by the beach, despite the hot sun. Despite the chilly winds, the crowd looked amazing and dressed full out rave style. The girls looked HOT and the guys looked super fly.
Around 5-6 o’clock the main headlining DJ’s began to play a set, starting with Tommy Trash (one of the funniest and coolest guys to talk to) our hilarious interview with him will also be posted on our page. His set was epic as usual and he says he loves Canadian crowds, they always bring the good energy. Following Tommy Trash were, Don Diablo, Laidback Luke, W&W, and finally DJ Snake.
The sun started to go down during Laidback Luke’s set and that’s when the sick lightshows really started. The crowd was absoultely loving the vibe at Elements and went so hard as the night went on. Being apart of the media and having the chance to be backstage at the festival I really got to see how hard everyone works to make the show come together. The Electric Elements team were phenomenal at organizing and working hard to bring the crowd a great festival this year.
Lovethiscitytv was honoured to be apart of the media team for the festival this year and really felt the entire event was a success. We can’t wait to attend next year and hope you do too!
Electric Elements Festival : Famous for its wild parties and beach bum appeal, Wasaga Beach is home to the largest freshwater beach in the entire world. For years, the May 24 long weekend has been an epic getaway in Wasaga, kicking off summer with a bang.
Wasaga will yet again host some of the biggest names in EDM. Electric Elements Festival will provide party-goers from across Canada with sunshine, beaches, and electronic music.
Buses are available from the GTA and surrounding areas of Wasaga.
Interview with DJ Tommy Trash on Love This City TV
Head banging, unmistakable locks at large and fist in the air, Tommy Trash is not your stereotypical dance music icon. Armed with an arsenal of his own carefully created anthems, he has rejected the clean-shaven no-nonsense image of many a peer. Tommy’s work hard play hard antics have carved him a unique position in a scene in desperate need of rebels. Outside his party-hard stage presence, the Grammy and VMA nominated producer’s approach to mind-blowing music remains as heartfelt as they come. With Platinum records around the world, singles on labels ranging from Axtone to Fool’s Gold, from Refune to Mau5trap, and from Spinnin’ to Owsla and Boys Noize, every new installment of his diverse, floor-filling productions lay testament to the pride the Aussie takes in his blazing, musical legacy. It’s no wonder that the likes of Rolling Stone and MTV have marked him out as ‘One To Watch’.
From the most prestigious nightspots around the globe and the ever-expanding global festivals that he so seamlessly conquers to the grimiest warehouse parties, there’s no stage too grand or miniscule for him to tailor his adrenaline-fueled sets to. In line with his successive industry triumphs, the road ahead looks set to comfortably accommodate the rare energy and characteristics that Tommy continues to bring to dance music.
