10 Things to do During March Break in Toronto
It’s hard to believe that spring break is coming up, especially considering it feels like 2016 just began yesterday.. Even if you’ve decided that going away for March Break is out of the question this year, you can still have a blast in the city. There’s always something going on in Toronto and this March Break is no exception. Whether it be checking out a well- known attraction, going to an event, or even doing something chills, there is plenty that’s available to keep you busy this March. Here are 10 awesome activities and things that you can do this break solo, and/or with your family and friends.
1. Toronto Fashion Week:
March 14th to 18th is Toronto’s annual Fashion Week. Toronto fashion week is one of the largest events in Canada that celebrates all things fashion. Whether you have a passion for the fashion industry and want to network, or just love fashion in general, this is the ultimate event to check out. 2. Sugar Beach Sugar Shack: March 12th and 13th, Canada’s Sugar Beach at Jarvis and Queens Quay will be transformed, Quebecois style. If you really want to embrace your Canadian roots and soak up some Canadian culture, this is definitely something to check out. The event is for all ages, families, and it’s free! Food trucks will be there to serve some Quebec-style favourites, and there will be plenty of maple syrup to go around! The event will also feature live performances from local French artists.

3. Ontario Science Centre: The inner science-nerd in everyone has to go to the Ontario science Centre at least once in their lifetime! If you haven’t ever been to the Science Centre, or want to visit again..March Break is an awesome time to go. During march break the Ontario Science Centre has a variety of special programs to check out. There’s also an IMAX theatre which always has something interesting to watch.
4. Toronto Comic Con: Toronto’s largest three-day pop culture event takes place from March 18th-20th this year. Comic Con is the ultimate event for fans of sci-fi, horror, gaming, anime, and of course comics! 5. Go shopping: As simple as “go shopping” sounds, it’s usually a really great time to during the march break! Most stores will be having plenty of sales going on trying to get rid of their winter collection. Stores will also be featuring their spring collections, making it the perfect time to start shopping for a new and fresh spring wardrobe. You can check out The Eaton Centre and Yorkdale for a variety of awesome stores and deals during this break.
6. Skating: Winter is slowly but surely coming to an end and before we know it, all snow will be melted and temperatures will be rising. March break is a good time to get in some final skating time before the warmer weather. There’s plenty of outdoor and indoor rinks open to the public in the city during this week and most of the winter-time.
7. Eat: Experiment, and try a new restaurant you’ve always wanted to try but never got around to during this March Break. 9. Watch a movie: Going to the movies, watching a film on the big screen and eating buttery pop-corn is always a good experience. During the March Break going to the movies is something fun to enjoy solo, with friends, and family. 10. Go to a park: With chances of the weather slowly getting warmer and nicer for spring, going to check out some parks in Toronto is something nice to do this break. Sometimes we forget what it’s like to enjoy the outdoors during winter and go into hibernation mode, try getting outside this March Break! There’s plenty of beautiful parks and places to explore in Toronto such as high park, downsview park, riverdale, and even Toronto’s harbourfront.
