Octopus Recordings is starting 2016 right with a new EP from Weska. Despierta drops February 1st and the Toronto native showcases his brilliant talent on the four track EP with dark sultry sounds and an underground feel. Despierta is full of bass and surprising techno drops. Bart Skils, Drumcode, Dosem are just a few fans of the many Weska fans. He’s rocked stages at places like CODA, Maison Mercer, Red and even a Hoxton so everyone that’s into underground techno has heard of Weska.
“I’m happy with the way the “Despierta” EP came out. Every track offers a slightly different perspective on a single idea. I was thinking about how someone would feel if they were sitting in the middle of a storm, watching it develop around them, waiting for it to erupt. That feeling of an impending darkness, but one that you welcome rather than fear – that’s what I was going for.” – WESKA
