The results are in! DJ Magazine’s Annual Top 100 DJs list are in. For the first time in a while the number 1 DJ is someone totally different.
1. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike
Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike are in at number one. The Greek duo have worked with everyone from R&B singer Ne-Yo to Fedde Le Grand. They just seem to be churning out music and it’s started to catch everyone’s attention. They get a whole year to prove how they earned the number one spot. They’re currently the topic of discussion in the EDM atmosphere.
2. Hardwell
Hardwell dropped down one and he made number two this year. It’s hard to believe Hardwell has been around for so long but just recently dropped his “United We Are” debut album. He’s sold out shows in Jakarta, Singapore, Bangalore, and even London to name a few. He’s one of the hardest working DJ/Producers in the industry right now. No wonder he keeps making the top ten on the list.
3. Martin Garrix
There was quite some moving around doing in the top ten. Martin Garrix came in at number three. Martin Garrix is best known for “Animal” which made the top ten in more than ten countries. It’s funny when he made his debut on the list years ago, he debuted at number 40. He’s come a long way since then.
4. Armin Van Buuren
Armin Van Buuren moved down one and came in at number four. Armin isn’t a stranger to the Top 100 List. At one point, he was number one. He’s been nominated for a Grammy for his smash hit “This Is What it Feel Like.” All this work he’s put into the industry is definitely paying off. His newest album “Embrace” drops October 29th.
5. Tiesto
Tiesto didn’t move and stayed comfy at number five this year. His hard work paid off well this year. His remix of John Legend’s “All of Me” won him a Grammy which is a feat for any artist. Tiesto topped the list for three years in a row. It doesn’t look like he’s leaving the top ten any time soon.
6. David Guetta
David Guetta’s hard work has taken notice because he moved up to number six. David Guetta is most famous for his 2009 club banger “Sexy Bitch” which reached number one on many charts. His follow up proved he had way more hits under his belt because “Where Them Girls At,” Without you” and “Little Bad Girl,” followed soon after. In 2015 Billboard even gave “When Love Takes Over” the title of being the number one dance pop collab of all time.
7. Avicii
Avicii moved down and grabbed spot number seven. It’s crazy when you realize Avicii dropped his debut studio album in 2013 and that album “True” was truly impeccable. It topped the charts in more than fifteen countries. That album solidified his position in the industry and his second album “Stories” proved he’s not going anywhere any time soon.
8. Afrojack
Afrojack moved up a whooping four spots and nabbed number eight. Afrojack has been in the industry for well over a decade. His electronic house sound is heard all over popular culture. He’s a regular in the top 10 and it’s no surprise he’s in the top ten again.
9. Skrillex
Skrillex is the highest Dubstep DJ and didn’t move at all he’s comfy in number nine. The artist has won six Grammy Awards and earned every single one of them. He’s collaborated with Diplo and Boyz Noise to form two separate groups. His song “Bangarang” won two Grammy Awards.
10. Steve Aoki
Steve Aoki grabbed the tenth spot as number ten for the second year in a row. Check out the complete list below. Steve is one of the hardest working EDM artists in the world. He was recently noted as being the highest paid dance artist in all of North America. Sometimes he does multiple shows a day and the last thing this guy does is sleep. He’s worked with everyone from Rivers Cuomo to Snoop Lion and is a regular in the top ten and the festival circuit.

The Awards for the poll was held at the two-day Amsterdam Music Festival and welcomed quite the crowd. Now we have an entire year to debate over who should’ve beat who! Who do you think is the number one DJ? If you’re curious to how much the top DJs make, check out our blog post about it here.
