Halloween is slowly creeping upon us and we here at Love This City are ecstatic! We can’t wait to see all the clever DIY (and not so DIY) costumes based on some of this year’s hottest pop culture moments. If you’re still on the fence on your costume, don’t worry about it we made a list to get you started.
1. Cookie Lyon from “Empire”
Everyone knows she’s the fiercest dresser out of the Lyon clan and this costume is so easy you might not have to spend any money to put it together. Just grab a bodycon (preferably with some kind of animal print) and a fake fur (real if you’re ballin’ like that) and put on a pair of heels and walk around the whole night bossing people around.
2. Minions from “Minions”
This is an easy costume. Just find a yellow shirt, put on a pair of overalls and a pair of boots and gloves and what do you know you’re Minion ready? Get brownie points for finding a villain.
3. Left Shark
You almost forgot about the Left Shark from the super bowl performance. Left shark was known for dancing to the beat of his own drum. You get can get brownie points for your bestie dressing up as Katy Perry. They actually sell the Left Shark costume or you can DIY your own.
4. Stella from “Orange is the New Black”
Stella was a standout in this season’s “Orange of the New Black.” We can only imagines the Stellas that will bump into on Halloween Night. Brownie points if your friends dress up as the rest of the OITNB crew.
5. Cinderella
Cinderella has made a comeback this year because of the movie being released. Find a poofy blue dress and go out as Cinderella. Who knows you might just return with a prince charming by the end of the night. Just don’t go leaving your shoe anywhere.
6. Pachi
Yellow hat and grey threads and carry around some medals the entire night and you can be the life of the party. Pachi was full of fun and the icon of the Pan Am Games.
7. Joy and Sadness from Inside Out
Blue wigs for both. Green dress for Joy and a grey sweater dress for sadness. Brownie points if you go together as Joy and Sadness or just go all out and get the whole Inside Out crew together.
8. Anyone from the Mad Max Fury Cast
This is by far the easiest DIY. Just throw cut up some clothes and dirty them up a bit and grab all of your friends.
9. Kim Kardashian Breaking the Internet
This outght to be a show stopper just find a black strapless dress and carry around a bottle of champagne all night. You’ll kill two birds with one stone by being able to quench your thirst and drink said champagne. Brownie points if you find someone to be Kanye For President.
10. The Dress
Remember the dress that had the Internet up in arms? You could refresh everyone’s memory and actually find many replicas of it or you can buy the Halloween costume from Yandy.com. You’ll have people debating on rather it’s blue or gold the entire night.
