SummerDaze x Desert Hearts

Anyone who is a true fan of techno music knows a name that is synonymous with a great party is SummerDaze & Desert Hearts. Particularly after their City Hearts Summer Of Love Tour this year, which left us uplifted and stuck humming some memorable tracks that have become the theme song of our summer memories.

Located at District 28, SummerDaze party kicked off in the courtyard and had almost an intimate feel, like a large family gathering. Absent of the club kids and those who don’t really understand or appreciate the music, the courtyard was full of like-minded people ready to partake in 15 hours of a well planned multi-artist line-up.

Tyrone, Soloman, Adrian Ravelo, Nature Of Music, Dirty Dale, Members Only, Alberto Jossue and Shea Maria played the day away. And, as impressive they all were, it was refreshing that this SummerDaze event gave us more then great headliners, but also up and coming artists who are just starting to become recognized. On a musical level, I was moved by every one of the DJ’s sets, from novice to veteran, all the music was solid.summerdaze4

The bartenders were on point never leaving a person frustrated that they don’t have an alcoholic beverage in their hand, and the food was melt in your mouth delicious.

Soon came the night. That meant the switch from SummerDaze to Desert Hearts. This was the final stop of the City Hearts Summer Of Love tour by Desert Hearts. They casually and with ease coaxed the crowd from outside in the courtyard to inside District 28.

I started off a little skeptical as the idea of a warehouse party reminded me of the raves back from my teen days. But this was not that. Just like the daytime event, the crowd was mature and full of life. The deep sound of techno rolled through every person and created a vibe that could be felt in waves with people moving separately but together.

Undoubtedly Mikey Lion, Lee Reynolds, Marbs, Porkchop, Deep Jesus knew how to keep a crowd on their feet. And with the art installations giving the room a more inspiring look to go with the great feel I give props to the enjoyment of this event.

Overall this party was a success.  Rumor has it that SummerDaze has something up their sleeve for this fall. Whatever it may be, after this party, I’m ready to fall into a daze with them again.
