When most people think of EDM music one of the first names to pop in their head is Deadmau5. Deadmau5 has six Grammy nods and has rocked alongside DJs and producers like Kaskade, Rob Swire, Knife Party, Wolfgang Gartner and MC Flipside just to name few for the sake of time. His “While (1<2)” dropped last year it still has people dancing to it. Tracks like “Phantoms Can’t Hang,” “Seeya”, and “Avaritia” made this album the greatness that it is.
Kaskade has been spinning records and producing hits since 1989. He’s worked with producers like deadmau5 and Wolfgang Gartner. He currently has fans swinging their hips to his hits like “Never Sleep Alone,” “A Little More” and “Summer Nights.” He’s done remixes for everyone from Beyoncé to Leann Rimes and even Britney Spears. That’s quite an impressive record if you ask us.
Steve Aoki is the man when it comes to music. He has collaborations with everyone from Iggy Azalea to Lil’Jon and will.i.am. His album “Neon Future 2” features Snoop Dogg and Rivers Cuomo. Fans currently can’t stop jamming to some of his newest tracks like “Darker than Blood,” “I Love it When You Cry,” and “Lightning Strikes.” He always brings the energy when it comes to a performance so don’t expect anything less from him at Veld Fest.
With friends such as Fedde le Grand, Sander van Doorn, David Guetta and Tiesto, Dutch DJ/Producer Nicky Romero was destined to make it on DJ Magazine’s annual Top 100 DJs let alone make number eight. His viral song “Toulouse,” made all types of waves on the web and his collaboration with Avicii created a number one hit on the UK Charts.
Don’t scream too loud on the first day and lose your voice for day two. Day 2 features Hardwell, Above and Beyond, DVBBS, Mark Knight, and Oliver Heldens. Check out the full lineup here.
In 2013, Hardwell managed to nab the number spot on DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJs worldwide. He’s known for his crazy live sets and he’s performed at Tomorrowland and Ultra. Although he’s been in the music game for quite a while, his debut album dropped this year and had hits like “Follow Me,” “Echo,” and “Sally.” Fans love his unpredictable live sets that bring all the energy.
The Canadian electronic duo DVBBS has only been around for three years and these brothers have racked up quite the hits. “Tsunami,” and “Stampede” are two fan favorites from the boys. They’ve brought their style and even shared stages with the likes of Steve Aoki, Martin Garrix, Sander Van Doorn and Tiesto to name a few. They’ve performed at Ultra Music Festival and Electric Daisy so these guys know what they’re doing. This isn’t their first performance rodeo.
DJ/Producer Mark Knight has been in the music game for over a decade and refuses to settle for being great. He wants to be extraordinary. He has no boundaries when it comes to perfecting his craft and takes an out of the box approach when it comes to music. He even has a Grammy nod under his belt and an residencies that other artists would most likely kill for.
We have Tiesto to thank for the greatness known as Oliver Heldens. One listen to his 2013 hit “Gecko” and Tiesto was sold. Heldens has quite the British following and his remix of Dr Kucho!’s “Can’t Stop Playing” reached 1,4, and 4. This year he recreated himself under the name HI-LO and he’s bringing the bass this go around. Fans can’t stop listening to “Crank it Up” and “Renegade Mastah.”
August 3rd is going to be hard for all Veld attendees with a Veld hangover. In case you got lost in all this awesomeness, here’s where you can get your tickets. Don’t forget August 1st and 2nd at Downsview Park, that’s where you’re going to want to be fore all the festivities.
