We are have been waiting for the return on Electric Island since last summer’s final event on Labour Day and it’s FINALLY just around the corner! The countdown is on with just a few short days left until Victoria Day where Electric Island will be taking over Toronto Island with a line-up you definitely don’t want to miss! Steve Lawler, Pan-Pot, Lee Burridge, Tom Trago, Tuskegee (Seth Troxler b2b with the The Martinez Brothers) and some our favourite local talent Nature of Music and Simon Jain. Techno and house music at its finest! Talk about the perfect way to kick off the summer!
If you have been to the event in the past we know without a doubt you will be returning this year, and if this is your first year checking it out let us give you a brief overview of what to expect…
Let’s start off by where it’s at and how to get there! This year the location has changed to Hanlan Point on Toronto Island. You can catch the ferry at 9 Queens Quay West, and it’s as simple as jumping on the Hanlan Point Ferry, and in a short ride across the lake you will arrive upon one of Toronto’s most scenic locations with nothing but nature’s beauty awaiting you.
Here’s what you can expect once you arrive…thousands of people filled with nothing but amazing energy ready to seize the day! Whether you are ready to dance until the sun goes down, or you want to through a blanket on the grass and relax in the sun, socialize with friends over the huge variety of food and drink options. Whatever your vibe is Electric Island is waiting for you with open arms.
Now let’s talk about the reason we all adore Electric Island…the music! The kick off to Electric Island 2015 couldn’t start off with a better line-up. Techno and house lovers you will be in your element with this diverse and first class line-up of electronic music heavy weights.
Tom Trago and Lee Burridge will cater to the funkafied melodic seduction, disco loving crowd ready to bounce, while Berlin based duo Pan-Pot will take over the techno loving ears with thumping baselines and drops that will keep the energy at full force through out their entire set. Then we Steve Lawler…who Toronto has swooned over since his legendary days taking over our beloved Skybar. He will instantly take over the minds of everyone in the crowd. The energy that will transcend from the decks while Steve is playing is only something that can be explained by experience. A simple description to compare to this feeling is euphoric perfection. Now who could forget about Tuskegee. Seth Troxler and The Martinez Brothers launched a vinyl only label last year under this name and a b2b collaboration followed with nothing but the best in underground house music. Electric Island always supports our uber talented local acts, and Nature of Music and Simon Jain will be joining the incredible line-up for the Victoria Day kick off.
