Theater has a way of making people cry. Rather they’re crying from laughter or sadness, theater entertains. There are some pretty cool shows coming to Toronto in April and you don’t want to cry tears of sadness because you missed it. So here’s a rundown of some of the most popular cultural events in April.
Mostly everyone knows Jay as the guy from the Tonight Show. You know the show that is now hosted by Jimmy Fallon? Now you can welcome Leno into your heart and enjoy a good laugh. He’s performing at Massey Hall on April 30th and from the guy that brought you hysterical “Headlines,” you’re sure to cry laughing.

I could tell you Kids in the Hall are amazing but you’ll probably think I’m exaggerating so I’m going to let the reviews speak for themselves. Fans call them legends. You can experience the comedic legends yourself on April 23, 25, 26 at Danforth Music Hall and on the 27th you can check them out at Hamilton Place Theater. Apparently these guys are no strangers to comedy they’ve been doing this for decades so they’re sure to make you cry laughing. - Tommy Tiernan

Tommy Tiernan comedy is described by fans as “a blast.” If you want to see Tommy perform his comedy gold you might want to hop on it quickly because his tickets are selling really well, like “not many left” well. You can catch Tommy at Bluma Appel Theater on April 16th.
3. Romeo & Juliet
Everyone knows the story of Romeo and Juliet and we know how it ends yet we are still entertained every time someone performs it (if they perform it well.) You might want to be the judge yourself and check out the George Weston Recital Hall on April 30th at 7:30 to see their interpretation of Romeo and Juliet. There’s even some ballet in there.
4. Dame Edna’s Glorious Goodbye

Edna is no stranger to bringing people to tears. She’s been performing her sharp, witty comedy for over fifty years. You can catch the show April 16-19 at The Royal Alexandra Theatre.
5. Marc Maron

His early show at the Bluma Appel Theatre on April 19 is sold out already but if you’re lucky you can nab one of the few tickets left for his 10pm show. Fans described his comedy as angry and hilarious. Maron has been making people laugh with his stand-up for over fifteen years. He’s known for his raw and honest comedy and his way when it comes to improvising.
