Top Films to See During TIFF ’14

The 39th annual edition of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) will kick off next Thursday, September 4th and the films on tap range from all tastes and preferences. Historic biopics and nu-disco documentaries mean there is something for everybody’s palette at this year’s festivities.

The following are a list of 10 films screening this year; some are tipped for Oscar nominations and some to never see a reel of film again. Regardless, TIFF 2014 will be urging to catch your eye from September 4th to 15th this year.

7. Who Am I (Germany)
Director: Baran bo Odar

8. Eden (France)
Directed: Mia Hansen-Løve

9. Top Five (USA)
Starring/Director: Chris Rock

10. Foxcatcher (USA)
Starring: Channing Tatum, Steve Carell, Mark Ruffalo

TIFF 2014 is not only a tale of stories through film, but also a mecca for dance and art exhibitions throughout the city of Toronto. Keep your eyes on venues like the Sherbourne Common for big European house names, such as Claude VonStroke, Toronto’s own Art Department at Maison Mercer, as well as the hypnotic Mark Knight at Muzik.
