After having been moved to Wasaga Beach, then Toronto Island and later Collingwood, the Wakestock World Series is returning to Bala, Muskoka for this year’s installment of the world’s best wake sports festival presented by Monster Energy and Nautique Boats, starting August 7 to the 10th. Wakestock’s return to its home in Muskoka, Canada’s wake sports capital and one of the world’s premiere wake sports meccas, is awaited with much excitement, partly due to Wavestock’s insanely successful first formative years in Bala, where the intense combination of boarding, bands, bikinis and parties made Muskoka legendary for another reason besides being the heart of Canada’s cottage country.
Another cause for excitement is the lineup of wake events for pros and amateurs, as well as the festivities prepared for any and all wake enthusiasts attending. The wake event agenda, the largest yet, will feature the WWA World Series Pro Wakeboard, in which attendees will see world leading pros, like Harley Clifford, Aaron Rathy, Bob Soven and many more, showcasing mind-blowing skills. The Nautique Amateur Wakeboard & Wakeskate Championships (Canada’s largest amateur championship) and the Rip Curl Grom Search (a pro qualifier) are also included in the list of wake events.

Just as Wakestock introduced new features to the word wake scene during its previous time in Muskoka (such as pro wakeboard rails, pro wakeskating, pro big air, pro rider parties, live bands), Wakestock 2014 will again be debuting some new events that will progress wake sports further than it’s already came. The events debuting at this year’s festival will be Nautique series (for Pro Women Wakeboard, Junior Pro Wakeboard and Pro Wakeskate), Wakestock Wake Pro-Am (which is a straight-line cable event with rails and jump features) and Wakestock Wakesurfing Championship (the largest Amateur Wakesurfing event in the world presented by Pride Marine Group, Nautique and Sony).

Wakestock’s Pro and Amateur wakeboarding and wake park (straight-line cable) events will be hosted at Bush’s Watersports Park, while Muskoka’s renowned Kee To Bala music concert hall will be the center of Wakestock’s music events and nightly parties. Wakestock Weekend wouldn’t be complete without film premieres, live bands, DJs, the Miss Wakestock Bikini Contest, Skateboard Park and demos, Nautique Wake Boat and demos and the famed Wakestock Vendor Village, where you can find deals on current surfwear, wake and surf gear, sunglasses, action cams, music-electronics accessories, and more.
