He is history in the making as he was voted the number one DJ in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and again in 2012. His career is more than a career – it is his life. His life is an achievement. He is a legend. He is Armin Van Buuren. You might know him from his popular radio show, A State of Trance (ASOT), or his hit single This is What it Feels Like. But Armin Van Buuren was making music long before that.
The 37 year old Dutch DJ started producing music as a teenager. He worked as a part time DJ at a club in his early years and produced music in his own home. Fortunately, Buuren was given the opportunity to host a radio show by ID&T Radio, and A State of Trance was born. The Internet is a powerful tool and ASOT was available for public streaming worldwide. More and more people started tuning into his weekly show and Buuren’s name spread throughout the globe like wildfire. The number of listeners soared rapidly and it now draws in 20 million listeners weekly. Buuren now has five studio albums and has played at some of the world’s largest music festivals including Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, and Beyond Wonderland. As if that isn’t enough, Armin even has his own record label, which you may recognize as Armada Music.

Many celebrities let their rise to fame become an interference with their personal life without even noticing it. Even though Armin has such a busy schedule with ASOT, producing music, and touring, he is still able to put aside time to spend with his wife and kid. Although he did put his education on hold, he returned to law school and still graduated and obtained his degree as well. It goes without saying that he is 100% dedicated to everything that he commits to.

Armin Van Buuren is so passionate about what he does, breathing life into his music. “Trance music has a special effect on people. It unites them in a way I’ve never seen other types of music do,” he says. He draws in unbelievably large crowds and each show he puts on is extraordinary and liberating. He is currently on his Armin Only: Intense world tour, and trust me, this is something you don’t want to miss.
