From planning a house party to going to a nightclub, many times we tend to feel that our NYE options are limited. Let’s not forget that the freezing weather limits our creativity as well. But we don’t necessarily have to restrict ourselves if we know exactly where to go. Below are some unique ideas on how to shake off 2013 and ring in 2014 in style.
1) Mariposa Cruises – Going on a Caribbean cruise is way too expensive to book at this time of the year. However, a there is a cruise that awaits guests right at Toronto’s Queens Quay West area. The Mariposa NYE cruise this year will be hosted by Z103.5’s Rebecca Page so you’re sure to hear your favourite Top 40 hits. Plus, you and your friends can enjoy a nice meal and champagne toast at midnight. This event is 19+.
2) Casa Loma – Fo
rget dressing up and going to a fancy hall; party like the royals at Toronto’s historical and majestic Casa Loma. This semi-formal 21+ event includes champagne at midnight and a DJ that spins Top 40 hits, R&B and house music. Might we add that 2014 also happens to be Casa Loma’s 100th anniversary?
3) The Drake Hotel – Take your NYE plans back in time to 1966 where Audrey Hepburn and Frank Sinatra dominated the party scene. It’s called the “Black and White Ball” and this glamourous formal event offers guests four-course meals (at a prix-fixe), reserved tables for your party, and a cocktail drink of your choice.
4) The CN Tower – Nothing is as romantic as taking your significant other to the top of the city, having a sumptuous meal and watching the CN Tower light up just after the countdown to 2014. Great marriage proposal idea too.
5) Brant House – If you must go to a nightclub that evening, make it at the upscale Brant House nightclub in the stylish area of King St. West. The exposed brick walls as a backdrop to Brant House’s modern fixtures gives this venue an old-meets-new feel, which makes way for the perfect night of partying – shed the old, and ring in 2014!
