Ever since I was young I’ve admired this woman’s exotic look. Her deep seductive blue eyes, unimpeachable smile, and shiny wavy brunette locks that are messy, but a sexy kind of messy. I would copy her hairstyle during my latter years in high school (and by copy, I mean, try to copy and fail miserably). My friends and I would sneak into my mother’s closet and pull out her best designer shoes, put on a popular dance song from the early 2000’s, and pretend we were walking down a catwalk. Of course, in my mind, I would secretly believe I was Her. My favourite model and angel: Adriana Lima.
She’s got style, flare, and everything happens so naturally for her. She breezed her way through multiple beauty pageants, winning every single one, throughout her elementary school years. This eventually led her to win the “Supermodel of the World” contest through Ford Models, which ultimately got her to sign with Elite Model Management.
She met the man of her dreams, was engaged just nine months after meeting him and now is married and has two little girls. She’s Catholic and super modest and angelic; noting that she stayed a virgin till she got married.
From being a spokes model for Mabelline, being a GUESS girl to landing a coveted role as one of the Victoria’s Secret’s veteran models, there’s no stopping the force that is Adriana Lima as she continues to rise above supermodel status. Let’s not forget that she was the face of many other designer brands as well – Bebe, Armani, BCBG, and Louis Vuitton. She’s not just a pretty face; she supports notable causes like hospitals treat
ing children with cancer and underprivileged orphanages.
There is nothing Adriana Lima can’t do and it seems like she’ll be part of the company that makes the sparkly multi-million dollar fantasy bras for years to come. For now, I’ll just occasionally strut my stuff in front of my mirror before going out, hoping my friends or mother never catch me doing this. I don’t own my own designer shoes yet but I will borrow my mother’s from time to time. My boyfriend of five years and I have only just begun talking the “wedding-talk”. My brunette hair is frizzy, not sexy, and I am not tall and will never make it in modeling. But hey… It’s all about the fantasy and dreaming big. That’s what Miss Lima has taught me.
