There’s nothing like spending a Sunday on a boat with your Trancefam listening to wicked Psytrance. On August 18th, 2013, Ozmosis Productions brought the one and only Simon Patterson onto the River Gambler with local talent Shelley and Mr. Morton on the upper deck, and Shane Halcon, KidZero and Elan Myles on the lower deck. The weather was beautiful, the atmosphere was ecstatic; it definitely was a perfect way to end a weekend.
The crowd was amazing, people were dancing everywhere on the boat as Mr. Morton started the party upstairs. Bottles were popping, people were raging; the energy in the air was overflowing the boat. Of course we weren’t the only cruise happening out in the waters, each time we passed another boat everyone waved and shouted; making sure the other people know you’re on the wrong party cruise. People were raging so hard, the boat started to rock back and forth, that’s when you know the party was a complete success.
Heading downstairs where there’s food and tech happening, it was refreshing to not be in the sun for a little while. No matter where you go, there’s always something exciting going on such as having Simon Patterson and Shelley walking freely around the boat talking to their fans, signing autographs and taking pictures. Having them interact with the audience made the event that much more special as you get to be more intimate with the artists.
When Simon played his newest hit “The One” the entire crowd lost it, everyone was grooving out left, right and centre. There wasn’t one motionless body on the boat, the music kept the energy and enthusiasm sky rocketing. Even after the boat docked and people came off the boat, everybody was still so hyped up.
Ozmosis Productions most definitely does a fantastic job organizing these types of boat cruises for the rave community, and of course the community appreciates these opportunities to be up close and personal with their favorite Djs. The city will patiently wait till the next time Simon Patterson is back in town, but until then, Waves of Trance Open Up Edition was one for the books.
