SummerAid Music Festival

SummerAid Music Festival 2013 in Grand Bend, ON

Bummed that WEMF was cancelled this year? Can’t afford to travel to BC for Shambhala? Fill the BYOB camping void in your heart with SummerAid Music Festival this August 23-25 at Grand Bend, Ontario. However, this event is a little bit more unique. Not only is the line-up packed with amazing DJs to keep you dancing all weekend long, the other half of the lineup consists of live bands! Friends, camping, BYOB, DJs, and bands; what else could party goers ask for in a summer event? The party starts when the grounds open to ticket holders at 5:00PM on the Friday.

Featuring a full Canadian line-up, live bands include: USS, illScarlett, Courage My Love, Two Crown King, Stereokid, Street Pharmacy, Trouble & Daughter, Wesley James and Jojeto. The first band starts jamming out at 7:00PM. On the electronic side of things, the line-up features Omar LinX, Dvbbs, Keys N Krates, Mat the Alien, the Sour DJs, Hydee, Andy’s iLL, J-Lah, Mr Brown, Grizzy, MC Frequency, MissBlyss and Riggadale. If you’re a Torontonian bass addict, you’ve most likely raged hard to these DJs’ sets on more than one occasion. Not only do attendees get to rock out to all of this musical talent all Friday and Saturday, but there are many more attractions to this magical weekend, such as the event being hosted by Much Music’s Scott Willats.

Imagine kicking back in a campsite with your best friends and a crackling campfire. Yes, campfires are allowed at this event. Whenever your feet can’t dance any longer, rest up at your home base, aka your campsite. If you want to beat the heat during the day, there will be shuttle buses to transport you to the beach for a refreshing swim or a relaxing tanning session. You may be asking yourself, what do I do when nature calls? Well you won’t be subjected to a long line of port-a-potties, this event comes equipped with flush toilets and even showers to keep you ravers clean. If you’re the ‘mom’ of your group (you know who you are), you’ll be relieved to know there will be 24-hour security patrols for everyone’s safety.

If you’re looking for a genuine BYOB camping music festival experience this summer, come out to SummerAid and party hard with all of your friends. Don’t forget, there’s no glass allowed and always respect others as well as yourself. Enjoy your Grand Bend get-away!
