Ice cream is great no matter the season but for some reason it’s way better in the summertime and not all ice cream is created equal. There are dozens of places to get ice cream in Toronto but we rounded up our top six.

La Diperie | 372 Danforth Ave.

Build your own ice cream dream at La Diperie. The entire soft serve experience can be customized from the base flavor, cone, dips and last but not least shower it with toppings. Make sure you have some cash on hand because this place is cash only but it’s worth standing in line and experiencing it.

Bang Bang Ice Cream | 93 Ossington Ave.

Think ice cream sandwiches on fresh cookies, and cones. The wait might be long but it’s worth it especially for flavors like banana puddin’, pink lemonade, London Fog, and Rocky Roadkill. They offer flavors by the mouthful and you’ll want a scoop of them all!

Dolce Gelato | 697 College St.

Dolce Gelato has so many ice cream choices (over sixty to be exact) that one might get overwhelmed but don’t let that deter you as you can sample their flavors before selecting your new favorite. Strawberry Cheesecake and their hazelnut flavors are raved about.

Ed’s Real Scoop | 920 Queen Street

Ed’s Real Scoop doesn’t just make ice cream. They specialize in ice cream cakes and jars of sundae sauces. Not only will you get affordable ice cream but you’ll enjoy the atmosphere. Treat yourself to the passion fruit gelato and thank us later!

Sweet Jesus | 106 John Street

Sweet Jesus praises themselves for making themselves for making culinary creations unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. A great example of them pushing boundaries I their Krusty the Cone which is a vanilla soft serve with cotton candy and sprinkles.

Ice Cream Junction | 3103 Dundas St West

Ice Cream Junction does traditional ice cream parlor correctly. From the pink striped walls to their old fashioned Sundaes you’ll want to melt as you devour scoops of flavors like pistachio almond to maple walnut ice cream.
