Clifton Hills in Niagara Falls is going through exciting, nostalgia inducing changes! The Niagara Speedway is going to be North America’s largest elevated go-kart track. The Mario Kart lovers will especially appreciate the facility for its similarities to the eccentric virtual tracks found in the game. The track is still under construction and a definitive opening date has not been set.
The massive track will take over 425,000 pounds of steel and will be about 1620 lineal feet in length. Clifton Hills is known as an exciting gem for attractions and entertainment in Niagara Falls and the addition of the Niagara speedway will only make it a more exciting destination to visit! The attraction will be the first of its kind in Canada and the largest of its kind in North America.
The project began in 2015 as a part of an initiative to increase tourism to Niagara Falls. In addition to the Niagara Speedway, a zombie exhibit, enhanced 4D theatre, new simulators as well as a refreshed Ripley’s Believe it or Not Museum will join the lineup of new attractions.
As mentioned, a definitive date has not been set but HOCO, the company in charge of building the attraction estimates completion in spring of 2018.
