NBA All-Star Weekend 2016

If the NBA had a festival, NBA All-Star Weekend would be it! This year’s festivities and games take place in Toronto (a first) and everyone that is anyone is most likely going to be in Toronto from February 11-14 and we don’t blame them. There will be so many parties that by the time Monday comes you’ll be questioning the meaning of life and wondering where the weekend went all of a sudden. Celebrities like Amber Rose, Shaquille O’Neal, and even Lil’Jon is coming to town for this experience. In the spirit of All-Star Weekend here’s six reasons to check out all the hoopla (and yes we said hoopla)!

1. The Basketball Games

If you’re ballin’ (pun intended) out of control get a ticket to the game and watch the magic happen for yourself. This year boasts the most expensive All-Star tickets in the last six years but people are buying them. See the dunk contest, three point shootout, celebrity game all for a very heft price. 2. The Celebrities at these Basketball Games

Sporting events always brings celebrities in tow. Do expect to see some of your favorites at Air Canada Centre cheering on their favorite players. Jay-Z, Shaq, Beyonce…who knows you may be at a game and someone famous is just sitting next to you?

4. Shaq’s Comedy Jam

Shaq can pretty much do whatever he wants because he’s Shaq. Every year he hosts an All Star Comedy Jam with some of the best comedians in the business. February 12th you’re going to want to be at the Sony Centre for Performing Arts to see Bill Bellamy, Robert Powell, Tony Roberts and Dean Cole.  Expect some surprises being that these are comedians and it is All-Star Weekend after all.

5. Kobe’s Celebration

This year is special for Kobe. Rumor has it that it’s his last All-Star Weekend as a player and everyone’s wondering if he’ll be crowned the MVP this year! Why not go out with a bang? There’s also rumors of a special ceremony at the game just for him.

You’ll be so tired come Tuesday the fact that it’s over will be bittersweet.

*7. Drake

Drake is on this list because he’s Six God and we know he’s going to be welcoming everyone to the city with party after party and lots of surprises. It would be wise to keep an eye on this guy’s Instagram page.
