Mad Decent Block Party

mad decent block party

One word to describe the craziness that is Mad Decent Block Party is MAD! As in you’re going to be mad if you miss it and you’ve got to be mad not to go. September 29th fans are expected to pack Fort York Garrison Commons to see Major Lazer, Riff Raff, and Thugli to name a few. That’s just three of the ten performers though. If you miss this party, you’re going to want to kick yourself because this is the only stop in Toronto for the electronic festival that’s already taken over the streets of North America. The event is sponsored by Bud Light and they don’t want you to forget it that’s why you’ll find over 200,000 specially designed Bud Light cans. You’re gonna want to get your tickets here and thank us later for it.

Every city has a slightly different line up for the Mad Decent Block Party and Toronto seems to have gotten a pretty decent lineup. Major Lazer is known for their crazy hits. Their single “Lean On” is currently blowing up radio waves. There’s no surprise these guys make nothing but gold because Diplo’s a part of the trio. Other members include Jillionaire and Walshy Fire. These three sure know how to make a hit. They’ve produced hits as solo acts so can imagine the craziness they put together in the studio?

Even if you’ve never heard a Riff Raff track you’ve seen this guy and he intrigues you. He intrigues everyone. This Houston, Texas rapper has been associated with everyone from Soulja Boy to Paul Wall. His persistence earned him a spot on Mad Decent’s record label. He’s collaborated with the likes of Far East Movement, Action Bronson and even OJ da Juiceman. This guy doesn’t only have persistence he has juice because he keeps catching the ears of people willing to give him a chance.

Canadian production duo Thugli get most of their inspiration from down south but somehow manage to mix the down dirty south production with electronic music and whatever they’re doing, they’re doing right. They’ve got radio stations from all over the continent spinning their tracks and even support from legends like Zed’s Dead and Diplo.

Also, see performances from CL, TJR, HRMXNY, Jauz, What’s So Not, and Yellow Claw. No wonder Mad Decent didn’t call this a concert series or a festival because this deserves the block party label. If you want the madness to continue for just a little bit longer after it’s over you’re going to want to head over to The Hoxton for the official Mad Decent Block Party After party and pray that there are some tickets left at the door because online they sold out like hot cakes. This after party is expected to be an all-star event. This is all so crazy no wonder we have Diplo to thank for this traveling electronic dance circus. You have to be eighteen to join the circus and in that case you’re going to want to follow these guys and the have the party never end. If you miss the Toronto date there’s also a shot at the September 4th Calgary show and September 6th Vancouver date. But why deny yourself the pleasure of seeing some of your favs in Toronto? That would be just maddening.
