Love This City TV – How is it working as a duo – the pros and cons?
Ortzy – Pros: Having another person’s creativity and ideas is amazing when you’re working in the studio Cons: Ummm Less MONEY! hahaha
Nico – Pros: 100% having two minds in the studio. We bounce off of eachother’s Ideas and create magic! Cons: Sometimes it’s harder to book gigs as a duo, because it’s more expensive for the promoters (two flights, two hotel rooms etc.)

Love This City TV – How did you come together to become HIIO?
HIIO – We formed HIIO just over a year ago now, and we actually met 2 years back through a mutual friend when Nico came to Colombia to play a show and Ortzy was living there at the time. We kept in touch, and created a collaboration with our track “Something About You.” We realized we worked very well together and had a lot in common at the time to produce. Ortzy then made the move from Colombia to Buenos Aires so we could produce, and from there we built the HIIO brand!

Love This City TV – What is the meaning behind the name HIIO?
HIIO – HIIO (Pronounced HE-O) has both of our initials in it. “H” for Hamuy and “O” for Ortzy. We added the II because we are a duo. So we liked this and decided to go with it, and the name HIIO was born.

Love This City TV – How would you describe your musical style?
HIIO – Our music style is Electro, Progressive House and Big Room, with a sexy South American sound to it.

Love This City TV – Top 3 tracks at the moment?
Nico –
1. HIIO – La Fiesta
2. Stafford Brothers – Are You Ready
3. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike Feat. Wolfpack – Ocarina (The Tomorrowland Anthem)
Ortzy –
1. Steve Aoki – Boneless
2. Armin Van Buuren – This Is What It Feels Like
3. TJR – What’s Up Suckers

Love This City TV – What are some hobbies you guys like doing on your down time?
Ortzy – Going to watch Colombia Soccer games.
Nico – Playing poker with friends.

Love This City TV – Can you tell us of any memories from summer 2013 that come to mind – some “damn I can’t believe that happened” moments?
HIIO – Tomorrowland 2013 was a dream come true for us! We played at the Samsung Galaxy Secret Forest stage, and it’s something we will never forget! Even right after we played we were like “I can’t believe that just happened!!!” haha
