Holiday Baking: Featuring Chef Lauren Mozer
Tips and tricks for this holiday using “Anything Goes Cookie Dough”
The holiday season is quickly approaching and gift-giving will soon be among us. One tradition that’s always popular close to Christmas time is holiday baking. If you’re like me, you may find cooking and baking slightly overwhelming. One thing I know for sure, is that following easy recipes and learning about tips and tricks are always super helpful.
I recently had the chance to interview Lauren Mozer, she’s a private chef in Toronto and the owner and executive chef of Elle Cuisine. She definitely inspired me by reassuring me that holiday baking is a lot easier than it seems. Being a personal chef, Lauren knows a thing or two about special moments being created through the love of food.
“Anything Goes Cookie Dough” is Lauren’s choice for the ultimate holiday baking hack.
Prep Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 8 mins Makes: 52 cookies
- 1 cup of Becel Buttery Taste Margarine
- 2 ¼ cups (550 mL) all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp. salt
- 1 cup (250 mL) firmly packed light brown sugar
- ¼ cup (60 mL) granulated sugar
- 2 large Omega 3 eggs
- 1 tsp (5mL) vanilla extract
Preheat Oven to 375 degrees. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in medium bowl and set aside.
Beat Becel Buttery Taste Margarine with sugars in a large bowl. Beat in the eggs and the vanilla until blended. Gradually add in the flour mixture and beat until blended. *ADD YOUR CHIOCE OF MIX INS* (toffee pieces, cranberries, etc) drop by table spoons on ungreased baking sheets
Bake for 7 minutes or until edges are golden. Cool 2 minutes on wire rack; remove cookies from sheets and cool completely
This recipe is super simple and easy to follow, and really only takes up to 8 minutes to cook. Lauren says the best part about this recipe is that once the dough is made, you can customize and personalize it however you’d like. She also says that customizing your baked goods and adding the mix-ins you think are necessary makes gifting baked goods even more personal. One of the best parts about the holidays is reconnecting and spending quality time with friends, family, and loved ones. Baking with your family and friends is an awesome opportunity to create those special and fun moments. So this year, give the gift of something homemade, delicious, and super easy. This recipe is sure to impress!
