As much as some of us don’t want to admit it, summer is quickly coming to an end. It’s the middle of August and soon enough we will all be prepping for the fall season, heading back to school, and back to work. If there’s one thing in particular that I always look forward to in the fall it definitely is the fashion. Even though it’s still summer I always like to be ahead of the game and get prepared for the fall season usually starting with my wardrobe. If you’re like me, and want to know this year’s hottest trends for fall 2016 then I got you covered. I work in retail therefore I always get a good insight into what the new seasons trends will be. After looking through magazines, different clothing stores, and runways from fashion shows this year, I have a pretty good idea about which styles are “in” for this fall. Here is what you can expect:
- Bomber Jackets
Everyone’s been talking about how they’re bringing the 90’s back this year, bomber jackets are a good example of that. These jackets will definitely be one of fall’s most popular clothing trend this year. A bomber jacket is a great and essential piece to have in your wardrobe. This jacket can be paired with so many different outfits and styles. They’re easy and comfortable to wear and many stores are selling them in a variety of colours and textures.
Chokers are another 90’s trend that has made a huge comeback this year. We have been seeing a lot of this trend on women throughout all of the summer and there’s no doubt that it will continue into the fall. Chokers give an outfit the edgy and sexy look or can be worn as an accessory to keep an outfit casual. If you look into almost any women’s clothing store you will most likely find a variety of chokers to choose from and they usually range in size, fit, and texture. It’s a piece you’ll definitely want as a part of your collection this fall!
I love leather, it’s bold and edgy and a great way to dress up or dress down an outfit. Leather jackets, vests, and over pieces are trends to look out for this fall. The great thing about them is that they keep you warm as the weather starts to cool down in the fall, but they’re also not overly thick and won’t make you sweat. Pairing leather on leather was seen at many fashion shows this year so don’t be afraid to wear leather boots and a jacket together as one complete outfit.
- All pink everything
There’s something about pink this season, different shades of pink are being seen everywhere in fall collections this year. There’s so many different shades of pink such as bright magenta or a neutral nude pink. It is a gentle and soft colour to wear and there’s plenty of different shades of pink to match any kind of skin tone you are. Nude/beige heels or booties are great to pair with any kind of pink piece you might add to your wardrobe this season.
- Mock Necks
There’s a difference between mock necks and turtle necks, and mock necks are definitely in this fall. Mock neck shirts sit right before underneath the neck and cover the entire chest/torso. What I love about these tops for fall is that they a perfect for layering an outfit. Sleeveless mock neck tank tops can be paired with a bomber jacket or leather vest as a fabulous look for the fall.
- Mini skirts
When I think of mini-skirts I don’t usually imagine them as something to be worn during the fall but then I realized how to make them work in colder weather. Mini-skirts have been hugely popular on runways for fall this year. Leather mini-skirts can be paired with an over-sized sweater and infinity scarf for a comfy and cute look this fall. Even in the cooler weather you can make mini-skirts work by wearing it with a pair of tights and high boots.
Joggers have to be one of the coolest looking trends I’ve been seeing for fall this year. Both men and women are rocking joggers on the runways and in magazines this year and it’s a look that I’m sure will be a success for the fall season. Joggers are not only comfy to wear but they also look great. Women can dress this look up by wearing a jogger with a pair of open toe heels for a night out or just simply with a pair of running shoes to keep it casual.
- Ankle Boots
Ankle Boots are the kind of shoes you’ll definitely be seeing in plenty of shoe stores this fall. These kind of boots are awesome to have as a piece in your wardrobe in the fall because they’re comfortable, sturdy, and provide warmth without looking too chunky. Ankle boots and a pair of jeans are the best kind of combo for the fall season.
- Shearling Coats
This is an interesting look that was found on so many runways this year. These coats are originally made from processed lamb skin or sheep skin, and use the fur on the inside. Most stores sell the faux version of shearling coats so you don’t have to worry about them using the real thing. Shearling coats will range in prices depending on if you want a real or faux coat. One thing’s for sure, the jackets look stylish and will keep you warm as the temperature cools down.
- Showing Shoulders
Cold shoulder bodysuits and long sleeves are a sexy yet classy look to wear in fall 2016. What I love about this look is that it’s a good shirt to wear and keep you warm while still showing some skin. Every girl should show a little shoulder this fall and pair a cold-shoulder top with a pair of jeans, or a pencil skirt.
